
Ajman Centre for Social Responsibility (Ajman CSR), aninitiatives of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation withApparel Group’s Skechers and the International Humanitarian and CharityOrganization (IHCO), implemented the ‘School Bag’ initiative, whereby more than1,700 school bags were distributed to students from the first to ninth grades thatare affiliated with the IHCO.
Commentingon the initiative, Nasser Al Dhafri, CEO of Ajman CSR, stressed its importance,especially that it coincided with the return to school. It also came to relievethe burdens on families, he added, explaining that one of the main goals of theAjman CSR is to strengthen its partnerships to ensure unification of efforts andthe optimal use of the resources.
He alsopointed out that the Centre seeks to implement pioneering projects andinitiatives in cooperation with public benefit institutions and the privatesector. In addition, it strives to encourage the establishments to continueimplementing various programmes and projects that feed into their vision andgoals on one side and serve members of society on the other hand, he added.
Forhis part, Dr. Khaled Abdelwahab Al Khaja, Executive Director of the IHCO,thanked the Ajman CSR and Apparel Group for implementing the initiative, whichis in line with the plans and projects of the IHCO that aim at providingappropriate educational tools for school students. He also stressed the role ofthe initiative in drawing smile on the faces of students and ease the burden onfamilies.
Meanwhile, Apparel Group affirmedits keenness to implement initiatives in cooperation with its partners from thegovernment and private sectors, as a global retail group for more than 75international brands. Skechers donated 1,700 school bags worth AED 90,000 forthe initiative. Skechers looks forward to increasing its cooperation with AjmanCSR in the future to implement further initiatives targeting members of the community.
